The Collision Career Institute (CCI) leadership team has deep ties to the collision repair industry. CCI combines the talents of professionals with management experience in both profit and non-profit organizations. CCI has expertise in corporate strategy, growth, training, funding, finance, business process improvement, project management and Career & Technical Education (CTE). CCI was created to help solve an industry wide shortage of entry-level technicians. CCI focuses on bridging the gap between traditional CTE programs and on-the-job training through internships and apprenticeships.

Our Experts

Erick Bickett, CCI founder and CEO brings vast experience and expertise in the collision Industry. Along with operating a successful multi location Collision Repair business and national autobody franchise Erick has been building tools and solutions to benefit repairers,, their employees and customers. Erick is also known for data analytics and business management systems that support the automotive collision-repair industry segment. As a founder of CIECA (Collision Industry Electronic Commerce Association), CynCast, Caliber Collision, and the Fix Auto USA franchise, Erick is an innovator in the collision repair industry. Erick is passionate about solving the technician shortage by offering a solution which requires replicating a proven sustainable apprenticeship model to other industry leading employers.

  Charles Robertson
, CCI founder and President, a former technician, painter, estimator, and shop owner, has over 25 years of collision repair education experience. Prior to CCI Charlie was lead instructor of the Collision Repair Training Program at Cerritos College, molding it into one of the top models for technical education in the nation. Robertson developed the training program above industry standards through online courses; mandated skill sets; individual assessments; embedded industry certification; and updated shop equipment and support technology. He has personally trained more than 6,000 students. Charlie is the subject matter expert (SME) for technical curriculum development and our resident expert on the Canvas learning management system.

   Dan Dutra, CCI partner and Senior Director of Business Development for shops has dedicated his entire life to collision repair. Dan owned and managed Sigs Collision Centers for over 16 years, Hawaii’s only MSO. Prior to that time Dan did business development for DuPont Refinish, Standox Refinish, and Fix Auto USA.

Cost Efficient

The Collision Career Institute (CCI) provides collision repair training that is complete, easy to access and allows students to earn while they learn. For shop owners the CCI Program provides a foundation to produce a productive employee from a novice in skills employees generating more than their cost of training, wages, and trainer incentives within as little as 90 days. Successful shops commit an industry average of 3% of annual revenues to ongoing training programs. Today’s vehicles require technicians to be life-long learners to stay productive and knowledgeable to safely repair collision damaged vehicles.

 Course Advantages 

CCI’s online Collision Repair Training Program is delivered through Canvas, a user-friendly learning management system that is easy to learn. CCI “How to” processes are easy to follow and provide step-by-step direction for Trainers and Educators allowing them to focus on transferring skills to learners. CCI online courses are supplemented with the CCI Skills-Tracker Workbook which provides the detail needed to train learners. CCI uses proven teaching methodology to deliver real world original content that is complimented with the I-CAR PDP Education Edition Curriculum. Online content includes presentations, videos, handouts, and electronic textbooks. Students can access the materials using their smartphone, laptop, tablet, or computer. As a bonus, CCI has embedded quizzes and tests in each program automatically graded and posted into each learner's gradebook. Allowing the Educator to focus on skills transfer. Repeating each skill is required to earn CCI Skill Certificates ensuring a learner has the skills to perform the work daily in a live shop environment.
